But this 5 and 1/2q, it holds a great amount. You can do a a small chicken in here. Actually, a pretty good sized chicken, a beef roast. I done beef burgon in here. This is great for making a large batch of soup um for you know the winter. You can do your chowters or whatnot, but it's a pretty great big versatile size.
I will say this is nice for larger families. If you've got, you know, uh five or six in your family, this is a perfect pot.
So it is a really good size. You can do a small chicken in here. You can do a beef roast in here. So if you wanted to make a smaller batch of beef bagon for like a family of four or five, this guy is perfect.
This is also the one that I cook all of my sourdough um round uh little bowls and the sourdough loaves, the round ones in. This pot is perfect for my batch of it. It's got enough height. I don't feel like you need to have a second like specialty Dutch oven for your bread baking. I do mine right in this pot and it just…
This is great for mac and cheese, making a peach crisp, a small chowder for, you know, like a small soup for about four people. This is the perfect size for it.
So, it is great for smaller families, or if you're on your own, you can make smaller sourdough loaves than this as well. This can make you a much bigger one, but this is perfect for making a slightly smaller loaf.
Um, again, this is a great pot to have. I use this for a lot of my side dishes.
But they are great great products for both making breads, making soups and roasting in.
This uh has actually been with me for over 20 years. Just a testament to the quality of Lelay Cruset. I've had most of these for almost 15, but this one I've had for 20 years and I even got it secondhand.

the other reason that I really like the brazers and that I think that if you're going to get one or the other maybe a brazer might be a good choice is because you can also sort of use it as a sauté pan or a pan on your stove top if you ever want to use you know a little cast IR in enamel pan so that's pretty exciting…

Two judgements rest on this sentence:

Le Creuset — Braiser vs. Dutch Oven.

I think that honestly having one of each just because they're used for such different types of cooking is really a smart choice

the cast iron brazer is really great just like a caster and skillet in the sense that the heavy cast iron is going to maintain the heat when you add food to hot oil it cools down the oil and you're not going to get that beautiful crispness that you want

Number two is a nice sturdy handle. This one's really comfortable which means when you're cooking, you feel secure.
This also has a helper handle. It's not essential, but it is kind of nice when you're carrying it around your kitchen.
Another really important factor is weight. This is really the sweet spot. It's two pounds, 12 ounces.
3:01 supports Kate Shannon speaking on America's Test Kitchen
The composition of these pans is pretty similar. Both are fully clad stainless steel and that means that they're gonna be quick to heat up they're gonna be reactive to temperature changes but the stainless steel that you're cooking on is not reactive. So they're both really user-friendly.

performance Tested it Are Special Pans Like Sauciers & Sauté Pans Worth It? | Gear Heads

Cites acid resistance, heat conduction, size and capacity

So what makes a good saucier? This has a pretty broad cooking surface. Some of the models we tested were smaller and when you're stirring, you feel kind of cramped. And if the cooking surface is too big that means all your food is spread out into a thin layer. It's a little harder to control, more likely to burn.
