well has some like to show some extra aluminum cream up in there because it helps the pan heat up faster and more evenly so this pan is a double stuff
Cites build quality, ease of cleaning, even heating, heating speed, maintenance, non-stick surface
but this coating does come with some other benefits too for one it's even less reactive than stainless steel which makes it a bit less sticky
and after I saw just how downright slippery it was with chicken thighs I tried out a few things I wouldn't usually turn to stainless steel for I had no problem frying or scrambling eggs or make tartatan in these bad boys
all that is to say there's no such thing as perfect cookware but I'll sell for excellent materials get to 10.

this is the Heston nanobond 11 inch fry pan this is the eight and a half inch version and this is maybe the most exciting review I've ever written for two reasons one because the nanobomb line represents a significant technological advance for stainless steel cookware which much of the Chagrin of the cast iron fandom…
Cites dishwasher safe, durability
that leads us right into care which is a category all about cleaning and maintenance and the biggest question in this category is always is it dishwasher safe and as with all the pests and stainless products the answer is a resounding yes because of the sealed edges these actually might be the most dishwasher safe…
so y'all Care's getting in 10 too
lastly we come to fun and that's mostly about confidence does a piece of cookware feel like it has your back or do you have to baby it obviously there's no baby in here because these are some of the most performant resilient pieces of cookware on the planet
fun is the definition of a 10
and that brings our initial cult scores for both the 11 inch and the eight and a half inch to 10. I had a hunch a few weeks ago that this would be our first 10 because it just outperforms everything in its class as I did more and more research on the brand and the production and everything else it just confirmed my…
now as many of you know I've publicly gone on the record a few times saying that I don't think any pan on Earth is worth 300 dollars I don't think any pan on Earth is worth 360 dollars because nothing in the market is differentiated enough to justify that price point but in this specific instance at this specific…
Two judgements rest on this sentence:
before you ask no this is nothing like those brittle self-sacrificing ceramic coatings on non-stick pans this isn't quite nonstick but it is extremely durable
in fact probably the most common application of this technology is these titanium reinforced drill bits that you use for drilling through concrete and metal at almost nine and a half on the most scale you'd be hard-pressed to find a material short of diamond that is likely to scratch it now I'm not particularly…
though steel wool won't even leave scuffs which is pretty wild to see
Hestan and Heritage Steel had marks that looked similar, but when I ran my finger over them, they were completely smooth. There were no grooves or any real damage.

Hestan had minor rub marks similar to the spatula test, but the surface underneath was completely smooth.
Viking, Hestan, and Our Place had no damage.
Hestan, Heritage Steel, and Taima all had noticeable circular rub marks, but no actual scratches.
The titanium pans didn't show any signs of pitting.
I've been using this pan for years and the performance is fantastic.
Go with Hestan NanoBond if you want a lighter, more responsive pan with high-end features.
Cites heat control, weight
But if you have the budget and want to splurge on cookware that maintains its original appearance for a very long time, Hestan NanoBond is one of the best you can buy.
Cites appearance, scratch resistance
This pan sears beautifully.
Cites searing and crust
However, Hestan does offer a combination of features that most brands don’t. And with its ultra-smooth surface, NanoBond is one of the most unique cookware collections I’ve tested.

NanoBond is the smoothest pan I’ve tested. It not only looks and feels smoother than standard stainless steel pans, but you can hear it. When you rub your fingers over the surface, it’s much quieter.
Cites surface finish
In terms of actual cooking, it has slightly better non-stick properties than a typical stainless steel pan. But you still need to preheat the pan and add some oil or butter to prevent sticking. And if you don't get the heat right or don't add enough fat, eggs will stick just like they do with any other stainless steel…
I did the same thing on the NanoBond pan. This time, there were no scratches at all. To make sure I wasn't missing anything, I rubbed another spot on the NanoBond pan, and again, no scratches.
Cites base and rim, dishwasher safe, maintenance
Instead of exposed rims that can become sharp after washing in the dishwasher and lead to the bonded layers splitting, Hestan NanoBond and ProBond pans have sealed rims. So you can clean these pans in the dishwasher without any concerns.
and you can easily remove them with white vinegar. Just add a splash, swirl with water, scrub, and rinse.
our design category focuses on ergonomics thoughtful details and Aesthetics I think Hessian generally does an outstanding job on the first two because they're so considerate of the finer details the materials are a perfect example of that but they also really optimize the shape too you get a lot of cooking service…
Cites ease of cleaning, shape and form, storage and stacking
So, that's going to make it scratch resistant and pretty much stain proof. And what I mean by scratch resistant, you can use metal tools in the pan all day long.

But the good news is as far as Nano Bond is concerned, that mark is just a mark. It doesn't cause the pan to to depreciate at that point.

What it's doing is is it's alleviating one of the biggest problems with cooking with stainless steel.

it's a surface that's four times harder than the stainless steel beneath it.
Over the 7 years plus of talking about Nano Bond, I have yet to have anybody have it so where they couldn't get it clean and remove
So, for all of these reasons, we have Nanobond. No chemicals. Toxin-free.
With our pan and NanoBond, you can go all the way up to 1,050° F.

In terms of induction performance, it heated quickly when empty but was the slowest stainless steel pan to boil water.

The Hestan NanoBond pan got a little too hot and browned the egg more than I wanted, but the non-stick performance was still good and it flipped easily without breaking the yolk or ripping the egg.

One thing I noticed is that the knife was much quieter on the Hestan pan compared to the others. The surface is so smooth and hard that the knife almost glides across it.
Since the surface is incredibly hard and highly polished, it's slicker and more scratch resistant than standard stainless steel.
The egg stuck badly to the Hestan, Heritage Steel, and Taima pans.
The pancakes stuck a little bit to the Hestan pan, but not much.
Hestan had a very tiny spot that stuck, but it was barely noticeable.
First, titanium is bonded to the surface, which makes it harder and more resistant to scratches. I tested it with the rough side of a sponge and a knife and although it’s not scratch-proof, it resists damage far better than standard stainless steel.
Cites scratch resistance
Titanium ions are vaporized in a vacuum chamber and bonded to the steel surface, creating a layer that's four times harder than typical stainless steel. You can see and feel the difference immediately.
Cites base and rim, handle, scratch resistance, size and capacity
It's also more resistant to scratches than standard stainless steel.
It has a wide cooking surface, flush rivets, and sealed rims.
This NanoBond 12.5-inch frying pan is currently listed on Hestan's website for $450. For comparison, Demeyere's most expensive pan, the 12.5-inch pan in the Atlantis collection, is $350, and All-Clad's most expensive pan, the 12-inch Copper Core frying pan, is $365, but it's often on sale for much less.
Cites price (against)
You could buy seven Goldilocks or Tramontina 12-inch pans for the price of one Hestan NanoBond.
Most stainless steel pans develop micro-scratches when you scrub them with the rough side of a sponge, but not with these pans.
Cites scratch resistance
Number three is Hestan NanoBond.
for those of you who hate rainbow stains this coating is prone to that just like regular stainless steel

my only consistent gripe attestant besides the price tag has been the Aesthetics which tends towards a kind of corny pseudo-french visual language especially on the pot and lid handles where they add a kind of awkward bulge so they can emboss the Brand's very ornate logo Sarah and I spent a few years in Napa Valley…
but my totic test did fully stick and I had to be pretty intentional to keep my fish moving freely it's just a bit more like a handrail than an escalator it'll help you get where you're going it's just not going to do the work for you

the only time we've even had to apply any elbow grease was when one piece of the Todd egg stuck on due to that super hard coating
the results on the hestan weren't great um sometimes getting the leading hose effect and getting a non-thick pan off of a tripod can be more difficult and that is just kind of how it goes with pants that are thinner um they can be harder to regulate kind of a a medium temperature of cooking if you need to be a little…

For most home cooks, these benefits are overkill.
Although the price is outrageously high, this pan has 2 unique benefits.
Cites price (against)
The NanoBond, ProBond, and CopperBond pans are great for searing and browning, and the ProBond TITUM pan is ideal for eggs and anything prone
They're angled upward with a groove on top, a curved bottom that fits nicely in your palm, and a bump to warn you when your hand is getting too close to the pan. Rounded handles can slip and rotate when your hand is wet or you're wearing an oven mitt. And handles with a deep groove like All-Clad can dig into your hand…
Cites handle
These pans can't compete with Demeyere and Fissler on heat retention, but they're a step above your typical stainless steel cookware with flush rivets, sealed rims, and a scratch-resistant, titanium-infused surface.
Cites build quality, heat retention (against)
so I don't dislike the hestan yeah I think it's a fine pan yeah I don't know if it would be worth the money yeah that's the thing for me too because it is titanium and I'm sure there's some cost that goes in there and they hold the patent for it so I'm assuming they can charge essentially whatever similar to like new…

and then these two are actually pretty comparable I have to say even with a smaller pan these two actually look pretty similar all clad in the Heston with the demire kind of in the lead there
and here's our Heston nanobond and I was saying as well that this guy I would say is actually comparable if actually at the end maybe actually even a little bit nicer in terms of evenness of cooking then the allclad
honestly they all they're all great pants they all did a great job for me the the Far and Away lead is this guy um but for just a small eight inch pan I'm pretty pretty happy with this one too
that was interesting so you know good results from from the Nano Bond yeah um you know nothing Well above or different no not so much right per se
one thing I will say which is something that they do claim is that you can barely scratch this and I'll say I'm going like I'm not reefing on this guy with this fish bat but there is like no scratching on the surface whatsoever which I realize when it comes to actually cooking it has nothing to do with how it's going…

again this is kind of one of their claim to fames is how titanium is quote unquote stronger but after cleaning that with a brush and everything it's almost brand new looking still like that still has that Sheen that kind of gunmetal thing you get is from that titanium as opposed to like a more silvery looking…
and this guy is actually sticking a little bit more than I would expect which is interesting

and then this was our Heston so you can see that's probably where the most residue actually is so that is coming off
so yeah it looks like the Hester didn't stand up as well as these two guys
you still seem to be getting empty a little bit of stick still yeah a little bit
we're just gonna give this a quick little clip but still like still not as good uh I would say even so it took a little bit more finance a little bit more finickiness and that that's kind of what you usually expect out of a D3 right oh sorry out of a tripod yeah for sure
somebody's coming in to look for a quote nonstick piece of cookware. I always want to invite them into a conversation about Nano Bond.

The second benefit is that because the surface is so hard and non-porous, it’s ultra-smooth. So you get slightly better non-stick properties than a typical steel pan.
Cites non-stick surface, surface finish
The surface has a distinct gray blue color and an almost silky-like feel.
Cites surface finish
Another thing you should know before buying Hestan is that after a few uses, they won't look as sparkling and shiny as they do when you take them out of the box. Because NanoBond pans have a slick, polished finish, fingerprints and smudges are very noticeable. The brushed finish on ProBond pans does a better job…
Cites appearance (against), surface finish (against)
Another thing about the NanoBond pan is that after you cook with it once or twice, especially if you cook on high heat, you may notice rainbow stains like this. These stains are ugly, but they don't affect performance
All that said, there’s one thing I really don’t like about these handles. And that’s this large hanging loop at the end. It’s nice to be able to hang the pan from a hook, but the hole is unnecessarily large. This big opening, combined with the thinness of the handle, makes it uncomfortable to hold at the end. There's…

but that being said though like it is a great pan is if it was my money and you could go for either this guy or this guy and they're sorry talking about the Atlantis Pro Line the Atlantis pro line or the Heston nanobond yeah um what we were talking about they're pretty comparative in price um both made in Europe both…

That smoothness also makes it slightly less sticky with eggs.
Cites non-stick surface
The knife made a significant gouge in the ProBond pan. It also scratched the NanoBond pan but the damage wasn't as bad.
I repeated this test on the bottom of the pan, and the results were the same - The ProBond scratch was significant, and the NanoBond scratch was noticeable but not as deep.

And hey, presto. That is a very loose egg on a stainless steel pan.
I'm getting a nice crispy edge all around that egg.
How's the underc carriage look? Yeah, it's actually very nice. Little bit of browning. You got a little bit of crisp. The crisp is really nice.
So, I didn't actually take the pan heat above medium at all. I was kind of like low to medium the whole way pretty much. So, this thing definitely retains heat very well indeed, I must say. Like, there's still tons of heat in this. And this has been off the heat for about almost 10 minutes. So that's really good.
Now, let's see how the pan handles the butter. You can see it's foaming. Perfect temperature.
But look at the quality of that boneette. That slightly nutty color and flavor. It's just basting and holding absolutely beautifully.
Yep, came off. No problem whatsoever.
Yep, that is forming nice and crispy.
Even layer as well. Quite uniform.
And your butter isn't burnt even on a low to medium heat, which is pretty impressive.

Fortunately, they offer a generous 45-day return policy so if you get it in the mail and you don't like it you can return it.
But the best part about Made In is that the prices are fair. It's not the most affordable brand, but for quality fully-clad stainless steel cookware that's made in the United States and Italy, it's an excellent value.
this pan does exactly what it is supposed to do it is nearly perfect as an all round pan that you can use every day for the rest of your life
Cites versatility
the 304 grade is typical for high-end cookware where you really want to eliminate as much corrosion as possible and you want to make sure that this surface does not interact with your food

Owned 2 years
when it comes to durability this pan should last you a lifetime and if it doesn't made in has your back they have a lifetime warranty making this a true buy it forlife product with which is a testament to the confidence that they have in both their materials and their workmanship
and after two years of usage I can't say I have had any durability issues no loose rivets no warping no dents no no problems with the Pan's performance if I didn't know any better I actually would think that the pan and the handle were a single piece of Steel because they're so tightly connected to each other
If you're looking for lightweight pans, you'll be disappointed. Made In pans are built solid with thick heavy walls. The 12-inch fry pan weighs over three pounds.

It's exactly what you want in stainless steel cookware. It heats up fast and evenly, retains heat well, has large comfortable handles, an attractive brushed exterior, and it's built to last.
Thanks to its three millimeter thick five-ply construction, it does a fantastic job searing, browning, and frying.

In the $100 to $200 range, Made In, All-Clad D3 Everyday, and Heritage Steel Eater Series are the safest long-term buys. I've used all three for years and they consistently perform great.
one of the other things I love about this pan is the design there are lots of Brands out there with bold p iated styles for their pans that look great in certain contexts at certain times in certain situations you think polish steel looks great until you get your fingerprints all over it cast iron looks great when…
Cites appearance, maintenance
the brush steel finish is easy to maintain it looks Simple and Clean and the made in logos are tucked away so when you're cooking you actually never really see them and to me the Simplicity of this design is special it does everything it's supposed to do it does it really well but it doesn't steal all the attention

But these are solid. Really good, especially for the price. That's the main thing.
Like, you can buy really expensive frying pans. Got these in the sale, all three, for about $315 Canadian. So, that's like 50 bucks US.
You don't need to buy the whole three-pack, but it works out cheaper.
So, these remind me very much of like what we would use in a pro kitchen. So, that I like right off the bat.

And I do like that it's a bit deeper. So, if I want to make a sauce and stuff
I'd imagine this will be eggs in the morning.
This one will be fish, individual steaks, pork chops.
This one's going to be big format cooking, stir fry, pasta, finishing off pan sauces, maybe doing a massive frittata.
The result and definitely passes the fried egg test.
Look at that. You basically make a sauce right here. This is looking fantastic.
So, definitely passes the fish test. This has come out very well.
So, we've got really nice long handles. That's the first thing I actually quite like.

I wipe this out just to blot off some of the grease. That's what you got left. That's not bad.
Not much in the pan. As you can see, I've wiped it out.
And because it's got like a kind of satin finish, there's no slip on it. So, I've got a really good grip.
The sidewalls of the frying pans have too shallow of a slope. This design, plus the flared rims, makes it easy to slide food onto a plate but it also makes it easier to spill and splatter.

The rivets on the Made In pan I got years ago jet out further than most brands. It's hard to clean around the rivets so oil and food bits would often bake into the pan.
Still they don't offer flush rivets or rivetless options like several other brands.
I mentioned that I like the handle design but I need to call out the handle angle. Made In handles are almost even with the top of the pan. You can fit the pan in the oven with less space between racks but since the handle isn't angled upward like most, your hand is a little bit closer to the heat.
Also, there's a small space where the handle bends that's extremely difficult to clean unless you scrub it with a toothbrush.
The third feature is its brushed exterior. While I appreciate a shiny polished finish, I really like the matte look of Made In pants. They do a great job hiding fingerprints and smudges and it's a more modern look in my opinion.

Overall I love the design of Made In pans but I have one minor complaint.
Number one is the handle design. It's flat on the top and bottom so you have plenty of control when tilting but it's rounded and smooth on the sides so it's comfortable to hold.

Number two, the lid handle and helper handles are large. You can fit your entire hand around them for a firm grip.
Fortunately Made In made some updates and the rivets on the pans made today are much flatter.
It heats fast and evenly and once it's hot it maintains a consistent temperature.

And it can handle up to 800 degrees in the oven.
Based on my real-world testing, Made In lives up to the hype.
As the water heated up, tiny bubbles were uniform across the entire cooking surface, which indicates even heat distribution.
I've run this test with 20 other brands and Made In was the second fastest to boil the water, which is a good thing, but surprising considering the pan is relatively thick.
As you can see in the chart, Made In had the highest water temperature after 10 minutes.
The last feature I'll highlight is the large cooking surface. The diameter of the 12-inch fry pan's cooking surface is 9.5 inches. Most 12-inch pans are closer to 9 inches, so you get a little more flat space to cook.
and it has consistently performed really well in the several years I've owned it.

The Made In pan is listed as 12 in, but because of its wide flared rims, it actually measures 13 in from rim to rim. It also has the widest flat cooking surface of any pan I tested at 10 in.

if you want to level up your game with a low maintenance easy to use performant pan that can get you through the rest of your life

there's also a reliability benefit if you were to weld a pan and handle together you can sometimes get a very strong bond but if that weld is done poorly you will never know that it's done poorly until the day comes where you have a giant pan full of hot food and the handle snaps right off in an instant and your food…

aluminum has about 1/3 the density of steel which means that your pan is going to be lighter easier to maneuver when you're cooking 12-in pan weighs about 3.2 lb which is reasonable for a stainless steel pan but is less than half the weight of a cast iron pan of a similar size

personally I think Maiden has made the right choice here they have found a balance that it makes it a joy to cook with every day
this pan has all around the surface rolled rims that stick out allowing you to pour liquids or slide delicate Foods off of the pan without fear of spills or leaks down the side of the pan wall
Maiden also uses flattened handles with subtle indents for better grip when you're tilting the pan or pouring something out of it and it also has smooth smooth Corners around the edge of the handle for better Comfort while you're cooking
this handle also has a Hol core which keeps it cool while cooking on the stove top and cuts down on extra weight
this type of Steel this 430 grade stainless steel is magnetic which allows you to use this pan on an induction cooktop
Cites dishwasher safe, heat resistance, induction compatible, maintenance, oven safe, safety, stovetop compatibility
in terms of setup and maintenance you can start using stainless steel pans right away without any of the pre-seasoning rituals that come with cast iron or carbon steel pans
this pan is also dishwasher safe it can go into the oven up to 800° F and it doesn't have any of the toxic Coatings that you might find on a non-stick pan
because this pan is oven safe up to 800° F you can seamlessly move between the stove top and the oven which is particularly helpful for something like searing a steak
you can use it in basically any setting that means gas stove electric coil ceramic induction and even the other
if you do happen to be cooking on a grill or over An Open Fire Maiden does recommend that you use their carbon steel pan I'll link it in the description that works up to 1200° f
They seem like they're going to last and they have a lifetime warranty, so I'm impressed with that.

So, the handle is supposed to be stay cool. Closer to here is definitely hot. you will burn yourself. But up here at the minute, it is definitely cooler. Um, I'm not sure after a long extended use if I would say that that is a really stay cool handle. So, that's one potential little ding there.
finally as a bonus this pan comes with the unpaid approval yes unpaid approval of several Michelin star chefs who use this pan in their rest restaurant every day because it is the best pan for the job

however stainless steel is not perfect and the most common criticism people bring up is that sometimes it's easy to get food stuck to the surface of a stainless steel pan and it's true that there is a learning curve to using stainless steel cookwar I've experienced this myself

the cooking surface of the 12-in pan is 9.5 in across which is slightly larger than most Maiden has some steeper walls giving it a larger cooking surface so you get a little extra food that you can cook on your pan
I don't mind having these two little protrusions and as you can see there's not a whole lot of food that has gotten stuck in or around that area
once you have mastered the art of preheating your pan before you put food on it you can confidently cook most foods without any fear of stuck on food
if you do happen to burn food on your pan you can always soak it you can toss it in the dishwasher and in really extreme cases I've always found that baking soda and vinegar gets the job done
So, I can see why they're used a lot in pro kitchens and for home use. Fantastic.

The handle looks a lot like the Heritage Steel Eater Series handle, but it gets a little wider as you move toward the end, which I like. The Heritage Steel handle is the same width throughout.
